Speedcafe understands that Grove made the decision following last month’s Gold Coast 500. He’d been on the board as a team representative since 2022.
Grove flagged a desire to spend more time on his business and the Grove team, for which he is executive chairman.
Supercars’ Teams Racing Charter requires that at least two team representatives are on the board as non-voting members.
Brad Jones, Ryan Story and Ryan Walkinshaw will continue in their board positions.
“For me it’s about workload,” Grove told Speedcafe.
“The charter calls for two and there was four of us, and I’m really busy with work and the team.
“We’ve been through a rough period of trying to get the cars even in terms of parity.
“I helped on the business side the best I could, but I thought now was the time to focus on my own business and my race team.”
Supercars Chairman Barclay Nettlefold thanked Grove for his contribution.
“We extend our gratitude to Stephen Grove for his dedication and contribution to the Supercars Board over the past two years,” he said.
